SCARPETTA TO HOST OPUS ONE WINE DINNER
Fontainebleau’s Cellar 1954 Wine & Dinner Series Continues Thursday, April 14th
Paying homage to Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s opening in 1954, Cellar 1954 Wine & Dinner Series pairs the world’s most prestigious wines and winemakers with the award-winning cuisine of Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s signature restaurants. The 2016 season continues with a lavish dinner on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Scarpetta at 8 p.m. with Napa Valley’s legendary Opus One Winery – hosted by France Posener, sales director for the winery. The 2016 series will continue on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at StripSteak with Northern Spain wines – Rioja.
On April 14th, diners will enjoy a decadent five-course menu, prepared by Scarpetta’s chef de cuisine Neil O’Connell, complemented by Opus One Wines. In 1979, Opus One was created by the most iconic partnership in wine history between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild. Opus One quickly became America’s first ultra-premium wine as well as the first-ultra premium California wine to be sold in France, The United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland. Merging classical European and contemporary California elements, the Opus One estate is renowned throughout the wine world. Popular current releases include Opus One 2012 with warm, bold flavors of cassis, blackberry and black cherry; Opus One 2008 with traces of clove and dark chocolate; and Overture, which is aged in French Oak over a longer period of time than Opus One.
Each of the five courses will be paired with a different varietal from the winery.
