DEVON SEAFOOD + STEAK INTRODUCES SEASONAL LUNCH
Kendall’s Dining Destination Announces New Lunch Hours & Menu Items
Devon Seafood + Steak – Kendall’s critically-acclaimed restaurant and lounge – will be launching new lunch hours this winter season, allowing both holiday shoppers and the Kendall lunch crowd an opportunity to indulge in a menu traditionally offered on Saturdays only. Beginning on Tuesday, December 2nd, Devon’s lunch menu will be served Tuesday through Saturday from11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with seasonal weekday lunch hours ending on December 23, 2014.
Delectable starters will include fresh Oysters priced at $3 each, Roasted Duck Flatbread topped with fig barbeque sauce, Fontina, provolone, gorgonzola, red onion, Granny Smith apple and thyme vinaigrette ($11); and Goat Cheese Bruschetta served with tomato-basil cruda, focaccia crisps and Kalamata olives ($11). Guests can also feast on Mini Filet Sliders with watercress, shallot jam and gorgonzola ($14); Lobster Mac N’ Cheese garnished with white truffle bread crumbs ($15); and Mini New England Lobster Rolls – butter toasted sweet rolls stuffed with chilled lobster salad and watercress ($14.50). Before treating themselves to sweet treats like the Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée with raspberry, chocolate almond tuile ($8) and Apple Croustadetopped with cinnamon ice cream and bourbon-maple syrup ($8).
All of which will be served up by Rod Chitikov, who recently joined Miami’s culinary scene in July as Devon’s new Executive Chef. Born and raised in Russia, Chitikov (32), and his family immigrated to the United States in the mid-1990’s when he was 14 years-old. After arriving in the US, Chitikov found his passion for cooking at a young age. While working as a prep cook when he was just 15 years-old at the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club in St. Petersburg, Florida, Chitikov fell in love with cooking and hasn’t left the kitchen since. After studying cooking professionally, he held line cook positions at the original Soho House as well as Soho’s seafood-dining destination Aqua Grill. Upon graduation, Chitikov continued his culinary career as sous chef at The Vinoy Renaissance St. Petersburg Resort & Golf Club before becoming a part of the team at Devon Seafood + Steak.
With Chitikov at the helm, Devon will be introducing new entrees such as the Maple Planked Salmon – cooked on a maple plank with a bourbon glaze ($29) and Almond Encrusted Tilapiawith orange beurre blanc and fresh berries ($24). Also new to the menu are several savory shareable sides, priced at $7 each. They include the Creamed Kale, Crab Hush Puppies, Roasted Mushrooms with Truffle Butter (add $3.50) and Smoked Paprika Fries with Espelette Pepper Rouille.
