Trend-setting cocktail lounge at the Gale South Beach Returns

Regent Miami Beach.png

When it opened its doors in 2012, The Regent Cocktail Club at the Gale South Beach hotel on Miami Beach helped catapult the region into the national spotlight as a serious destination for cocktail enthusiasts. Its mix of Miami style, sophistication, service, and impeccable pours made it, inarguably, one of the city’s and country’s top cocktail spots. In December 2019 this trend-setting bar and lounge will relaunch at the Gale South Beach, moving into the larger, former Rec Room space. Featuring a new small plates menu and a revitalized cocktail list created in collaboration with none other than Miami’s best-known cocktail connoisseurs, Bar Lab, the Regent Cocktail Club will return as an iconic Miami institution.

Dubbed one of the Top Ten Hotel Bars in the World at New Orleans’ Tales of the Cocktail awards, The Regent Cocktail Club looks to expand upon its impressive list of accolades in an expansive new space that will retain the original’s sense of intimacy. The cocktail menu will stay rooted in the city’s Latin roots, offering tried and true Miami classics and a shaken, not stirred approach to the new. Designed as a perfect accouterment to the cocktails, a simple, but refined bar menu will be available.

Operated by LDV Hospitality, the owner of Scarpetta Restaurants and Dolce Italian, The Regent Cocktail Club poises itself as a true Miami Beach destination – a place for locals and visitors alike to unwind by sipping on craft cocktails, grabbing a bite to eat, and grooving to live music. The bar lounge will offer a schedule of musical programming featuring local bands and artists, Wednesday through Saturday from 8 PM to 10 PM. A house DJ will be spinning tunes on Friday and Saturday nights from 10PM until close.

“We are so excited to reopen the Regent in our beloved Rec Room space.  When we opened both the Regent and Rec Room back in 2012, the beach welcomed us with open arms as a genuine, carefree, community social hub, and we are ready to run that back!” says John Meadow, President, and Founder of LDV Hospitality.

Drawing inspiration from its tropical surroundings, the plush space has a capacity of 175 guests and offers a semi-private lounge for parties up to 25. The bar & lounge can be accessed through a staircase behind the host stand of Dolce Italian restaurant. The Regent Cocktail Club will be open daily from 6 PM to 2 AM. It is located in the Gale South Beach, 1690 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach.

Hit the deck this resort season in bold Egyptian geometric shapes.

Hot fuchsia, jade green, and lilacs bring the dynamic silhouettes of the vintage-inspired two-piece swim, sport-back swimsuits and chic flowing kaftans fit for you to rule in.

In contrast, work the mono dash monochrome prints in silk satin. When boarding the jet, wear elegant bandeaux bikinis and jumpsuits for on-the-go looks. Dive into black and white whenever you need to cool off.

Everything is made to coordinate.

Finally, make headway in the sea-green chiffon gowns and single-color separates to slip over your swimwear.

As Lelloue is here to take you from Boat to Beach to Bar.

Lee Brian Schrager Director’s Welcome Happy Hour:

This year Lee's welcome party was held on Thursday, February 21,  from 3 – 5 PM at The Shore Club South Beach 1901 on Collins Avenue. We personally liked it much better than last year at the Shelborne South Beach just one block down. The food stations from Diez y

Seis among others were a total hit! Looking forward to kicking off SOBEWFF at Lee's popular Happy Hour again next year.

And she did it again! The New York Times’ bestselling author and Food Network Channel personality chef Giada De Laurentiis hosted one of the most anticipated events of the SOBEWFF, Barilla’s Italian Bites on the Beach.  Sponsored by HCP Media and the Miami Herald Media Company Barilla's Italian Bites was held on Thursday, February 21 from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM at the Marriott Bonvoy™ Beachside at Delano Miami Beach

Mixing It Up on the Miami River: Best Bars, Bites & Beats was held on Thursday, February 21 10:00 PM - 12:00 AM The Wharf  114 SW North River Drive Miami

Selected wines from the Frescobaldi and Danzante portfolios and cocktails from Strega Liqueur were also served. This event was held on Friday, February 22  11:00 PM - 1:00 AM Casa Tua Cucina 70 SW 7th St Miami

Another signature event, The Goya Foods’ Grand Tasting Village featuring Mastercard Grand Tasting Tents & Publix Culinary Demonstrations sponsored by Sub-Zero Group Southeast. Featuring one of Kiki on the River's signature dishes, Greek Lobster Pasta, paired with a glass of Cloudy Bay for $34.00. "While many think of pasta as a traditional Italian dish, Greek Lobster Pasta is a signature dish of the Greek Islands. Featuring of cold water Lobster, its sweetmeat pairs well with  Greek ingredients like grape tomato puree, white wine, Greek Oregano, and of course Greek Olive oil. All of these elements complement the Bucatini pasta, which is a thicker noodle, with a hole in the middle, to hold the sauce and provide it a better texture. These beautiful ingredients playfully interact with each other, in a simple, but the complex dish that highlights the best of Mediterranean cuisine." - Chef Steve Rhee

They kicked off the series in May with Chef Norman Van Aken and continue the month of June with beloved chef and friend Marcus Samuelsson; featuring his Beet Cured Salmon with Florida citrus, shaved beets, house pickles, baby greens, and olive oil sea salt croutons. The dish, priced at $15 is available on the lunch and brunch menus. When asked about the collaboration Booth replied “Marcus is a dear friend of Jeff and me, and an extremely talented chef and master of many different cuisines. All of his restaurants are really fun, unique and inspirational. We have been lucky enough to work alongside him at many events including the vibrant festival he hosts each year called Harlem EatUp!. Our chef at Stiltsville Fish Bar, Kevin Little, worked closely with Marcus for a number of years in New York and fondly remembers making this delicious Beet Cured Salmon dish.” Diners can enjoy Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s beet cured salmon dish for the entire month of June. Future collaborations to be announced. Stiltsville Fish Bar is located at 1787 Purdy Avenue on Miami Beach. Open for Lunch Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 4 PM. Dinner is served Sunday through Thursday from 5 PM to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday from 5 PM to midnight. Brunch served Saturday & Sunday from 11 AM to 4 PM. Crawfish Eddie’s Happy Hour on offer Monday through Friday from 5 PM – 7 PM. Snail Social  – Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Slow Food Miami presents its “Snail Social” roaming Happy Hour event on Tuesday, April 10 from 6PM-8PM hosted by one of Miami's leaders in the farm-to-table movement and recently opened outpost, American Harvest South Miami. In previous years, Snail Socials were free to attend. However, Hurricane Irma was the major catalyst that spurred Slow Food Miami to turn these monthly gatherings into fundraisers that would connect the community with the obstacles that farmers face and to support the farms most in need. All funds raised through Fall 2017 have been distributed amongst several South Florida farms that were hard hit by Irma’s destructive winds. Moving into 2018, Slow Food continues to support farms where they need it most. The suggested minimum donation of $15 per person will directly impact the beneficiary farm's operation and help keep good, clean fair food on South Florida tables. There will be a Snail Social hosted by different Snail of Approval chefs and restaurants throughout Miami on the second Tuesday of every month. Other participating chefs and restaurants will be announced throughout the season via Slow Food Miami’s mailing list and social media tagged with #snailsocial. Follow Slow Food Miami on Instagram and Facebook to stay current. American Harvest South Miami is located at 5958 South Dixie Highway.

Cochon555 – June 10, 2018

Cochon555, the nation’s most talked-about premium food, wine and spirit celebration, and live-event series, is back on the road in 2018, returning to Miami on Sunday, June 10. This year, 1 Hotel South Beach will play host to hundred-plus prominent chefs, farmers, sommeliers, distillers, brewers, and barkeeps all working in concert to create luxurious moments at this stand-up, all-inclusive bacchanal celebration of tasty, heritage breed pork. At the heart, Cochon555 aims to create moments of inspiration, and to engender discussion and action - to buy, to cook, shop and donate in the name of safe, honest, and delicious food. The ultimate aim of Cochon555 is to provide education to chefs and consumers and create experiences that guests can sink their teeth into honest food from real farmers. Through education, the goal is to raise the bar on building a sustainable and profitable relationship for brands and chefs participating in culinary festivals. Every event is a fundraiser for Cochon555's sister charity, Piggy Bank, a start-up farm in Missouri that serves as a Kickstarter for new family farms and a safety net for those in the wake of a disaster (flood, fire, and disease).
