When it opened its doors in 2012, The Regent Cocktail Club at the Gale South Beach hotel on Miami Beach helped catapult the region into the national spotlight as a serious destination for cocktail enthusiasts. Monthly Festival Featured Live Music & Performances, Holistic Vendors, Chakra Inspired Cocktails & More
The Miami Beach EDITION hosted their first Full Moon Beach Festival on Saturday, September 14 to celebrate this month’s Harvest Moon with live performances by local artists, delicious bites, specialty cocktails, and an exclusive afterparty. The night began with a yoga class by Modern Om, followed by a special ceremony, led by Kahil, the official Master of Ceremonies, offering intention to the fire while honoring the ocean, beach, air, and moon. Kahil was then joined by professional drummers and tribal dancers, who performed in celebration of the Harvest Moon. The evening continued with live music from DJ Tavin Reiter, which guests grooved to under the full moon and around fire pits while enjoying vegan bites including Healthy BLTs, Harvest Corn, Pineapple Mozzarella Skewers, and Mushroom Tacos.
Guests enjoyed stargazing with an astronomer, built their own sage kits with Mystical Vibez and perused holistic vendors including Modern Om, henna artists, and tarot card readers. A one-of-a-kind cocktail and juice bar experience from Absolut Elyx and Expressed Juice allowed guests to mix and craft their own colorful spiked juice cocktails and non-alcoholic juice refreshments based on their chakras. A champagne bar featuring Perrier-Jouët champagne was also open for guests to indulge in all night long. Guests were able to keep the party going Saturday night at Basement Miami while they bowled, skated and danced to beats by DJs m.O.N.R.O.E. and adisyn. In collaboration with Modern Om, Basement Miami, Max Baum, Kahil, and The Miami Beach EDITION, this new monthly event is sure to become Miami’s hottest full moon celebration.

Terranova Corporation, developers of the Lincoln Eatery announced that the official opening date of the highly anticipated new food hall has been delayed slightly, with a four-day open to the public grand opening celebration rescheduled to kick off on Thursday, January 31, 2019. The Eatery, a 9,600 square foot culinary gathering space designed by global architecture firm Arquitectonica will feature 14 artisanal food and drink vendors at 723 North Lincoln Lane; in the heart of Miami Beach. The grand opening will be celebrated with a full week of special previews, events, live musical performances and activities ranging from face painting to drag queen bingo. “We promise it will be worth the wait, offered Terranova president Mindy McIlroy. “We have some exciting new vendors we’re getting ready to announce, including The Crafted Burger, and we decided to take a little extra time to make sure that all of our tenants are prepared to offer visitors the best possible experience from day one.” A full schedule of events for the celebration, as well as the finalized opening roster of tenants, will be provided shortly.

Danielle Serret won the JWU Student Showdown against Ariel "Chico" Pallares. Serret will receive a $4,000 scholarship and Pallares will take away $1,500 in scholarship funds.

Stiltsville Fish Bar continues to heat things up this Summer with their Cooking with Friends series. Chef/Partners Jeff McInnis and Janine Booth are inviting a different chef/friend to feature a special menu item at Stiltsville each month. Janine said the idea began simply from eating and enjoying the company of their peers. They kicked off the series in May with Chef Norman Van Aken and continue the month of June with beloved chef and friend Marcus Samuelsson; featuring his Beet Cured Salmon with Florida citrus, shaved beets, house pickles, baby greens, and olive oil sea salt croutons. The dish, priced at $15 is available on the lunch and brunch menus. When asked about the collaboration Booth replied “Marcus is a dear friend of Jeff and me, and an extremely talented chef and master of many different cuisines. All of his restaurants are really fun, unique and inspirational. We have been lucky enough to work alongside him at many events including the vibrant festival he hosts each year called Harlem EatUp!. Slow Food Miami presents its “Snail Social” roaming Happy Hour event on Tuesday, April 10 from 6PM-8PM hosted by one of Miami's leaders in the farm-to-table movement and recently opened outpost, American Harvest South Miami. In previous years, Snail Socials were free to attend. However, Hurricane Irma was the major catalyst that spurred Slow Food Miami to turn these monthly gatherings into fundraisers that would connect the community with the obstacles that farmers face and to support the farms most in need. All funds raised through Fall 2017 have been distributed amongst several South Florida farms that were hard hit by Irma’s destructive winds. Moving into 2018, Slow Food continues to support farms where they need it most. The suggested minimum donation of $15 per person will directly impact the beneficiary farm's operation and help keep good, clean fair food on South Florida tables. There will be a Snail Social hosted by different Snail of Approval chefs and restaurants throughout Miami on the second Tuesday of every month. Other participating chefs and restaurants will be announced throughout the season via Slow Food Miami’s mailing list and social media tagged with #snailsocial. Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign invites South Florida residents to sip and sample the area’s most celebrated culinary creations to help kids in need at this year’s 30th annual Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry on April 27, 2018. Hosted at Ice Palace Films Studios, the annual tasting event will feature gourmet cuisine and libations crafted by the city’s top chefs, sommeliers, mixologists and brewers as they unite to raise funds to ensure all children in America have access to the healthy food they need, every day. One-hundred-percent of proceeds from the event benefit No Kid Hungry’s work to end childhood hunger in America. Led by Chef Chairman Timon Balloo, South Florida’s culinary tastemakers will provide guests with scrumptious bite-size fare, craft cocktails, and delectable desserts. The benefit will also feature a silent auction with exclusive packages to bid on.
